CAYMAN ISLANDS - BRITISH TERRITORIES

WORK PERMITS in CAYMAN ISLANDS or WORK VISA in CAYMAN ISLANDS or JOBS in CAYMAN ISLANDS

The work permits are available to all non-residents planning to go and work in the Cayman Islands. Before the employee arrives on the Cayman Islands, the future employer must refer the employment/Job visa to the Cayman Islands Immigration Department in the interest of the worker.

Two main work permits are available

1. Temporary Work Permit

Temporary Work permit may be issued for a period not exceeding six months. Nevertheless, a temporary work license may not be extended or renewed unless initially given for less than six months. 6-month licenses are intended to fill seasonal vacancies. For temporary permits applications, no newspaper advertisement is required.

2. Longer Work Permit

Long Term Permit is usually granted for one year, and the employer must apply the permits for annual renewal afterwards. Over periods of up to three to nine years, longer work permits can be issued. The maximum time for a person to live on work permits is nine years on the Cayman Islands.
For the issuance or renewal of a long-term licence, the employer must notify the local press about the vacancy for at least three weeks to see if a suitable local Caymanian is available to hold the post
